Your privacy, plainly stated
Socratopia accounts are protected with secure, HTTP-only session cookies. Passwords are hashed with a strong one-way algorithm and are never stored or transmitted in plain text.
We store only what makes the product work for you: your name, email, saved terms, bookmarks, reading history and AI conversations. We do not sell personal data. Analytics, where used, are aggregate and privacy-respecting.
What we collect
- Account data: name, email address and a hashed password when you create an account.
- Usage data: saved terms, bookmarks, reading history and your THARA conversations, so you can pick up where you left off.
- Messages: anything you send through the contact form, kept only to respond to you.
How we use it
Your data powers the product: authentication, your personal library trail, and grounded THARA answers scoped to the dictionaries. We do not use your content to build advertising profiles, and we do not share it with third parties except where required by Canadian law.
Your choices
You can remove saved items at any time while signed in. To request an export or deletion of your account, contact us and we will action it. Deleting your account removes your personal data from our systems.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify signed-in users.
